Grassroots Community begins to Sprout!

Problem
Manual Systems Aren’t Scaling
Manual Coordination in Discord Channels and moderating services proved to be increasingly inefficient. Tasks like Score submission, bracket management, and moderation per 100+ participants was growing to be a gargantuan load of work for the team.

Solution
Constructing a More Compact, Scale-able System for the Community
As operations started to move to a website, I designed the user workflows, Wireframes, and digital interface of the new web-based system, fully automating moderator workload and making joining the competition more intuitive.

Research
The Advantages of a Grassroots Community
One of the strengths of a grassroots community is its openness. Members are more vocal about the tools and luxuries that they wish existed to see the scene grow.
Thus, to gather structured feedback, we used Google Forms as our primary research method, generating meaningful responses from active participants.
Below is a synthesis of insights and most desired features from user interviews that informed the design decisions behind the platform.

Reflections
Designing From Within the Experience
Being an active user for the product previously helped me gain firsthand insight into moments of opportunity. Designing as one my users helped me create workflows that felt more natural and purposeful, enhancing how seamless the competition process is without introducing any stress or additional complexity.
Building For Evolution
I structured the system to grow alongside the community; as the player base expands, new needs and feedback emerge, and the current platform is properly positioned to evolve without compromising its core experience
